This center of excellence features:

- The Hematology and Hemato-Oncology Day Hospital
Throughout the process, patients receive personalized care from Assuta’s dedicated team of professionals
and personal guidance from specialist physicians, multidisciplinary medical consultants,
and nursing staff skilled in hematology.
Autologous stem cell transplants (self-donated transplants)
The Center for Hematology and Hemato-Oncology performs self-donated stem cell transplants to treat patients
with malignant and benign conditions and to strengthen and prolong remission in diseases such as multiple myeloma or
T-cell lymphoma, and for recurring lymphoma or Hodgkin's disease, after a second remission.
The autologous stem cell transplant process
The patient undergoes an initial assessment and a series of tests to determine suitability for transplant.
Once approved for transplant, the patient’s stem cells are collected, and the cells are deep-frozen
in liquid nitrogen until the transplantation.
The patient is hospitalized in the Hematology and Hemato-Oncology center and the stem cells are prepared and administered.
After transplantation and discharge from the hospital, the patient continues with follow-up in the
hematology/hemato-oncology outpatient clinics and day hospital.
High availability for timely treatment
Given the seriousness of hematological conditions, Assuta fast-tracks patient appointments,
especially initial appointments with senior hematologists, so patients can address their concerns quickly.
Assuta is committed to completing diagnostics within 72 hours, during which patients typically undergo imaging scan,
stem cell biopsy, and lymph node biopsy.
Multidisciplinary care all in one place
When time and health are of the essence, the cross-disciplinary Assuta team delivers a comprehensive solution under one roof,
saving weeks and months of run-around between numerous medical facilities and professionals.
Premier treatment and patient experience
The professional nursing and administrative staff delivers best practice quality service.
The team plans for the patient’s arrival in advance, preparing medications and accommodations
before the patient is admitted to the hospital.
Patients can choose to be admitted directly to their inpatient hospital unit, saving time and bypassing intake in the emergency room.
